Xiongan New Area is rich in geothermal resources with complex in occurrence conditions. The resource potential is controlled by the distribution characteristics and genesis of regional carbonate reservoirs. In general, the thickness of Wumishan Formation in the study area decreases from NE to SW, and the trend of karst development is upward strong and downward weak. The mechanism of geothermal field temperature increase in this area is mainly deep heat conduction. The high thermal conductivity and high porosity of carbonate rocks in post-buried hills at the shallow part of the reservoir make the heat convection inside the reservoir intense, and make the temperature inside the reservoir tend to be homogeneous. At the same time, the heat source forms a large geothermal gradient through the fault structure when heat conduction. Therefore, geothermal resources are controlled by deep heat conduction, shallow heat convection and tectonic heat control. Xiongan New Area has the best geothermal resources in eastern China. The analysis of spatial distribution and characteristics of the study area can provide a reference for regional geothermal resources development and utilization.
